Updates on the past few months!

I need to stop neglecting this blog so much! So much has happened in my life these past few months and I just wanted to give some updates!

My first quarter at UC Santa Cruz just ended and I'm on my winter break. I did so many fun things and met a lot of new people, some of whom I think I'll have a relationship with for a long time. Finals week was so stressful and hectic! But I managed to go through it without pulling my hairs out :3 

On my first week at UCSC, we had Welcome Week. The school quarter didn't officially start until after that week. We were able to meet new people, hang out, and explore around UCSC-geting comfortable and use to our new home that we're going to spend the next four years of our lives at.

For incoming freshmans, they planned an event called Boardwalk Frolic. It was at the Boardwalk (obviously). I was with one of my roommate and a friend that I just met, who my roommate already knew.

My roommate's a little scared to go on roller coasters so we didn't go on much rides but that was fine with me cause I wasn't feeling up for any rides at the moment. But I DO LOVE roller coasters! So next time I visit the Boardwalk, I'm definitely going to ride ALL of the roller coasters! :D Maybe I'll go with my boyfriend, since we both love roller coasters and he's rode all the rides there already. So he'll know all the fun rides! 

 

When it was Halloween, we had a Pumpkin Carving & Cupcake Decorating party for our floor that our CA (Community Assistant-somewhat like an RA) had organized for us. She wanted us to get to know everyone on the floor, but I feel like she hasn't been too successful in that. 

I know practically everyone on my floor, besides the rest of the people on the other side. I don't know how it turned out that way but it just did. A lot of people don't like our CA- I don't really have much of an opinion on her. She's nice and everything, people just feel like she treats us as little kids a lot of the time.

The pumpkin's nose looks really long huh? My floormate wanted the pumpkin to look like.....someone, I forgot who xD But overall it's a good lookin' pumpkin eh? ;)

 On Halloween weekend, some of the girls on my floor and I went to this Merill Halloween Dance Party.

I didn't bring any costumes with me so I made up my costumes. I had a difficult time deciding what to be the whole time lol. But I finally got some good costume ideas.

At the Merill Dance party, I was like a Rocker Motorcycle chick-something like that. But because of my huge hair pouf, some people thought I was Snookie?!?!? LOL Does my hair look like Snookie's?? I didn't see it at all.

My friends made me pose. They kept saying, "Do a sexy pose! Look fierce!!" LMAO.

Now on to the actual Halloween day! :)

I didn't get to go home until it was Thanksgiving. I was suuuper super homesick! :(

I love spending time with my floormates! We always do weird, crazy stuff together. So sometimes it can get a little too loud on our floor (I guess) and our CA would have to keep telling us to quiet down.

But I don't think she realizes how loud all the other peoples floor over at the other buildings are like. Some floors are really really crazy at night o.o

We went exploring one night to Porter Caves! It was really cool inside. At first it was a little freaky cause it was just a hole you go underneath to get into the caves.

I kept wanting to go further, but some people didn't want to because it got too steep and we were at the point where we were practically crawling on the ground. We were all covered in mud once we got out haha.

During finals week, everyone on our floor were slowly going back home once they were done with finals. I wasn't done until waaay later into the week so I was one of the last ones to leave.

So with the rest of the people still on our floor, we decided to go get some ice cream downtown and go exploring a little bit.

We were right besides the Santa Cruz Mission. The place was closed so next time, we're going to visit it!

Well that's most of the things that has been going on for the past few months. I'm absolutely going to update more frequently on this blog!

The Voice~

Last night, my sister and I was watching The Voice. Idk why but whenever I saw that show playing, I would always skip it and look for something else to watch. lol I guess I was being bias and comparing it to American Idol....But it has its differences here and there.

I'm so glad I watched it, I would have skipped the channel if my sister wasn't there wanting to watch it haha.

My sister kept saying to me, "Vote for Javier!!" I kept thinking, this guy didn't look that good... But once I heard him sing O.O lmao he really is good! Note: Don't jude others appearances....

Javier Colon and Adam Levine are such a great duo! They sound sooo good and Javier is really talented.  I had not expected Javier to sing like that so I was really surprised lol.

I hope he wins!!!

Would people really buy basically just a ping pong paddle that costs $25??

It's better to just save your money and opt for the 2 player racket set from Amazon. The racket set would be better because it includes balls for just less than $10 altogether. Now that's a good deal.

Lol, the Japanese girl in the video playing Hyper Ping Pong looks like she's having a lot of fun. Probably cause she knows she's gonna get paid after she's done x)

Does the Samsung phone on the left look similar to the Apple iPhone??

Samsung's home country, South Korea, is being sued by Apple for supposedly copying Apple's design of the iPhone.

Instead of giving their new phone a similar name to the iPhone, it's called the Samsung Galaxy S.

And this isn't Samsung's first time having problems with Apple. Earlier back in April this year, they were sued for copying, not just the iPhone again, but the iPad as well.

There's a lot of phones out there that look vaguely similar to other phones as well. Maybe Apple's being a little to harsh on Samsung...? What do you think?

Just got my Harry Potter 2 tickets for the premiere showing. So excited!!! :D

Lucky Star!

This is one of my favorite animes lol.

It's so random and filled with a lot of humour and gags. What I liked about it was that it just talked about different things in each episode and didn't have an ongoing plot. So it was just a cute, fresh, and fun anime to watch.

The four girls' personality are very different with one another, but yet, they're such a close-knit group of friends.

This anime really is a hit-or-miss. People will love it or some won't. I definitely loved the anime.

What can I say, I'm a sucker for cute things x)

3DS sales

Since their launch, the Nintendo 3DS has sold about 3.6 million units. Considering that, they hoped for 4 million.

I think that the Nintendo 3DS is doing pretty good in sales. Even though most of the games that people are waiting for, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Kid Icarus, Kingdom Hearts, etc, have yet to come out. 

But The Legend of Zelda came out yesterday! So I'm sure the sales will most likely increase this week. :) I've already heard good reviews from people like kNIGHTWING01 on youtube and everybodyplays. I'm jealous of whoever has the game -.-

Anywho, one of the reasons that potential 3DS buyers have not yet gotten the 3DS was because the network browser was not yet up. 


Since then, Nintendo has been working on activating their network connection. They've already done their first network update and have gotten eShop accessible to download games, videos, apps, etc.

                                                                                      

I'm super excited for the 3D movie service and Netflix app that Nintendo are working on to release this summer.

The 3DS just keeps getting better and better :] The only downfall, for me, is the cost :(

This doesn't seem like a really good idea

This would probably be good for someone who wants to try out a game and see if they want it or not. But you would also be spending a few bucks if you purchase the game, in the end, anyways.

That's the thing I don't really like about this.

If you did want to try out a game you're considering, you'd be able to download a demo of the game through your own game console. Sooo, I don't see a big purpose for this game rental. You'd be spending more money than you need to.

What redbox does offer is that if you have the game rental for 30 days, you'll be able to keep it. The thing is, you would have payed around $60 for it.

This is just my opinion.

Birthday @ the park

Today I went to my little cousin's birthday. He turned 5! I remember when he was a little boy *sniff sniff* he was so cute. But now he's a feisty little flirt lol.

We had his birthday at the park and I didn't know it was gonna be so windy. It wasn't too cold until it started turning 8pm. So we packed up early and left. I'm still full from all of the bbq and hmm corn. I needa go do some flossin' now though x)

Oh and I'd like you guys to meet my little doggy, Gigi! :)

 And now here's Ponyo....

Ponyo took foreevveer to take a nice picture with -.- This was the only decent one. The main difference between Gigi and Ponyo is that Ponyo's a little fatty hahaha, jk. But yeah, she's chubbier than Gigi.....

The reason I'm showing my dogs is cause I talked about them in my first post of this blog here. They're about a year and a few months old now.

My sister keeps perstering me to play Kinect Sports with her so I have to stop writing here :( Bye guys!

I can't wait 'til the movie comes out!! :D I tried to get my ticket on fandango but it's not yet available in my area :'( Boooo.

Fight with your food!

The Kinect Sports- Calorie Challenge feature is a very fun add-on that keeps you actively moving around and about.

When I first played it, I was surprised because I had only played the 5 minute challenge and yet, I was sweatin' and my heart was beating like crazzyyyy. Well not that crazy, I'm just being a little too dramatic here. Hopefully it wasn't cause I haven't worked out in awhile though....x) But still, when I beat that little celery guy, I felt really good about myself lol. 

Seeing the amount of calories you are losing as you play really motivates you to keep on playing and to try to beat all of the other characters they have like the Blazing Banana, Mighty Milk, Peppy Pizza, etc.

I've yet to beat all of the challenges...I'm still working on it hahah. The Calorie Challenge add-on is only 320 Microsoft Points, so it's pretty cheap, in my opinion.

Poor Netflix :(

Netflix is currently going through a lawsuit with the National Association of Deaf because Netflix only has about 30 percent of their streaming content subbed. So basically, it is violating the rights of those who are deaf. But Netflix are saying that they are trying to get to about 80 percent of their streams to be subbed.

Netflix users also won't be able to watch Sony Picture movies from Starz Play because of a "temporary contract issue." So once Sony Picture and Starz Play are able to compromise and make peace with one another, then will Netflix users be able to watch Sony Picture movies from Starz instantly.

I really hope that netflix will have everything sorted out with their lawsuit because I enjoy watching movies instantly x)

I wish I had money!!!

I want the Nintendo 3DS - Aqua Blue! But it's freakin' $250 -_- Don't got that kinda money duuuude.

So for now, I'll just fantasize about what kind of games I would get if I actually did  have the 3DS x). What I definitely want is the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D! In the game you can play the ocarina! lol And I heard that there are new dungeons in the Ocarina of Time that are supposedly really cool. Correct me in I'm wrong..... What I loove about the Legend of Zelda is the music as well. So it'll be interesting hearing the different mini-tracks that the game has when you play throughout the game. I'm so jealous of whoever has the 3DS aaaand this game! If you do have this game, tell me what you think about it so far :)

Omgomg, and another game I want is Street Fighter IV! I love fighting games....even though I'm not too good....But I do beat other people sometimes xD I just gotta keep playing and practicing, I guess.

I also really like racing games. So, of course, I would want the Mario Kart 3D. It'll probably be cooler than the Nintendo DS' Mario Kart cause it will be in 3D!! LOL.

A feature I really like about the 3DS is the 3D Camera. They really upgraded on the camera feature of the DS. On my DSi, I like taking pictures of random stuff. So if I get the 3DS, there'll be A LOT of random pictures of things (me). hahah

So that's basically a few of the games I would want if I had the 3DS.

Nintendo Wii U Impression

I recently saw the trailer for Nintendo's new upcoming game console, the Wii U. I was pretty impressed by how much more advanced it is than the Wii I had. I'm speaking in past tense because my brother sold our Wii a few weeks back. :(

We want to get the Nintendo Wii U when it comes out in 2012. I'm so excited! :D My brother didn't tell me that he was selling our Wii console and games so I was pretty sad about that....

BUT, I'm occupying myself with the Xbox 360 4GB Console with Kinect. I love playing Dance Central and Kinect Sports. I really like playing those type of games that work you out lol. I was deciding on getting the Kintect Zumba but I wasn't sure if it was that good of a game. So I read reviews online but a lot of people have different opinions on the game, which was why I was a bit hesitant on it. I think I'll just wait until there's a newer version of zumba for Kinect. Then I'll decide if I want it that time around.
